My Royal P45 arrived on August Bank Holiday Sunday (metaphorically, of course) with the announcement that Errollyn Wallen will be taking up the role of Master of the King's Music, after my ten years in the role. How fortunate we all are that such a generous and inspiring person as Errollyn has agreed to step up into this position. I know she'll do a great deal of good in collaboration with the Palace.
This website was created (by my brilliant colleague Kate Johnson) 10 years ago, to give a little insight into whatever it was that I was aiming to do in the Royal role, and where I was doing it; this is its 554th published post . For now, I'll be keeping the site live, but probably posting less often and more briefly, with my own musical announcements. Huge thanks to all who have responded to my posts and been in contact over the last decade.
