What with so many historic music festivals having bitten the dust in recent years, it's great to know that the King's Lynn Festival, founded in 1951, is still very much in action. And I'll be headed there shortly for an adventurous programme by the Contemporary Consort (Monday 21 July at 5.30, KL Town Hall) which includes four of my pieces interspersed by Mendelssohn (both of them) and Schumann (just Robert this time.)

I'm particularly happy that my set will include a couple of fairly recent works, St Agnes and Three Chorales. We'll start off the recital with a short chat between myself and Festival director Ambrose Miller; and I'll be around afterwards for drinks, and I hope some more informal chat with any willing audience members.

PICTURED - The River Great Ouse at King's Lynn. What a surprising, historically rich town it is; and a privilege to present our concert in the lovely Town Hall, founded in the 15th century.
